If you have answered in such a way as this, then you have answered God in a wrong way and would never get into Heaven.  All these answers deal with the man.  The emphasis is on the “I”.  Look what I have done or have not done in order to get into Heaven.

A self-righteous man once said:

“God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are,   extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess” (Luke 18:11-12).

Did you notice the emphasis on “I”?  God says, what I do or do not do will never give me entrance into Heaven!  It’s only what Christ has done for us on the cross that will save us.

In order to answer God correctly, we should have said:

“Dear God, I have understood that I was a sinner.  I realized Jesus Christ died as my sacrifice for sin.  I have personally asked the Living Lord Jesus Christ to forgive me of all my sins and be my Savior from Hell.”

This is the only correct answer we could ever give to God.  If you gave a different answer, then God would never allow you into Heaven.  You would be lost and doomed for Hell!

If you have answered this question on the basis of your human merit (“I”), then you need to trust in Jesus Christ to save you.

It’s only through Christ that God will allow you entrance into Heaven.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

“… they are all under sin” (Romans 3-9b).

“But the scripture hath concluded all under sin” (Galatians 3:22a).

“For the wages of sin is death” (Separation from God in Hell – Romans 6:23a).

“… to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished” (II Peter 2:9b).

“How can ye escape the damnation of hell?” (Matthew 23:33).

“The wicked shall be turned into hell” (Psalms 9:17).

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”

 (Revelation 20:15).

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight” (Romans 3:20a).

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law” (Romans 3:28).

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5a).

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Romans 4:5).

“… Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures” (I Corinthians 15:3b).

“And that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according tot the scriptures” (I Corinthians 15:4).

“… but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice

    of himself” (Hebrews 9:26b).

“… the gift of God (Salvation) is eternal life” (Romans 6:23b).

Through the death and resurrection of Christ, we can have our sins forgiven and be sure of entering Heaven someday.  Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).

Simply believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

He took your sins upon Himself on the cross and arose from the grave.

Christ did all of this so He could forgive you of your sin, and save you from Hell today.

Many people believe about the historical death of Christ,

but never believe on Christ to save them!

When A Person Believes On Jesus Christ They Will:

·   Call out to Christ in simple faith and ask Him to save them from Hell.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

“For by grace are ye saved through faith” (Ephesians 2:8a).

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even

to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).

Calling out to Christ, faith in Christ, and receiving Christ all express the same truth.

They simply explain what it means when a person believes on Jesus Christ to be their Savior.

Will you believe on Him today?

Will you believe that He alone can save you today?

“Dear God, I am a sinner.  The Lord Jesus Christ died in my place,

bearing all of my sin.  By faith, I now believe on Jesus Christ

to forgive me of all my sin and save my soul from Hell.”

If you have prayed this prayer with understanding and sincerity, the Lord Jesus will save you.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47).

If you have prayed this prayer, will you be kind enough to do some more writing?  Will you please fill in the blanks and send this tract to me?  I would like to pray for you and send some information to you on how to live the Christian life.
